Our Story

My relationship with jewelry began early. I was always drawn to quiet beauty, the delicate pieces that don’t seek attention but stay with you. Jewelry, to me, was never about excess. It was about feeling complete.

But there was a challenge I couldn’t ignore.

Like many, I turned to imitation jewellery, only to find that my skin reacted badly. Redness, irritation, discomfort, what should have felt beautiful often became something I had to remove. That experience stayed with me. Loving jewelry shouldn’t require compromise.

Over the years, I continued searching for pieces that were gentle on the skin, thoughtfully crafted, and timeless enough to be worn every day. I realised how rare it was to find jewelry that balanced comfort, design, and intention, pieces that felt as good as they looked.

The idea for Maela didn’t come from a grand plan. It came from a moment of clarity.

Shortly after my marriage, during a simple family conversation, a thought surfaced naturally: why not create the jewelry I had been looking for all along? Jewelry that feels effortless. Jewelry designed for real life. Jewelry that respects the wearer as much as it adorns her. With the wholehearted support of my in-laws, that idea transformed into purpose.

That is how Maela was born.

The name Maela means Princess, not in the sense of grandeur, but in how every woman deserves to feel. Seen. Valued. Effortlessly elegant. Maela is built on the belief that luxury should be gentle, intentional, and personal.

We are a minimalistic jewelry brand that celebrates understated sophistication. Each piece is designed with clean lines and refined forms, crafted to sit softly on the skin and move with you through the day. Crafting jewelry for every emotion.

Maela is jewelry for every moment, quiet mornings, busy days, meaningful celebrations. Pieces you reach for instinctively. Jewelry that becomes part of your everyday rhythm.

At its heart, Maela is deeply personal. It is shaped by lived experience, by the search for comfort without compromise, and by the desire to create something lasting. Our jewelry isn’t meant to overpower, it’s meant to empower.
